"StrangelyFamiliar" represents the culmination of a senior thesis delving into the intricate realms of self-identity, cultural assimilation, and the embodiment of these complex notions into tangible forms. Functioning as an innovative online platform, StrangelyFamiliar empowers users to chart their multifaceted heritage by inputting diverse countries or regions of origin, thereby curating a virtual repository of elements resonating with their cultural essence. Through a fusion of motifs, textures, and emblems drawn from these inputs, the platform crafts bespoke compositions, which can be transposed onto a chosen artifact, thereby materializing a personalized expression of identity. The project encompasses a multifaceted array of components, including an intuitive website interface, immersive 3D promotional videos and prints, bespoke business cards, and a diverse range of handcrafted goods. These goods span from meticulously hand-dyed textiles employing various dyeing techniques to intricately laser-cut decorative wooden boxes, alongside miniature 3D-printed renditions of the artifacts featured in promotional materials.2019
